The Basics
- Join a playgroup, and meet other Mums and Dads, the kids get to have fun at the same time as you are socialising
- Visit your local library (click here to see what is open and what is shut), and pick up some books on a new hobby
- Visit one of the open swimming pools, have a hot tub and a swim. At present Jellie Park, and Pioneer Pool are open.
- Buy a $2 lotto ticket (no more than that!). One day you may be lucky!
- Volunteer to work in a community garden
- Volunteer as an usher at the Cinema, Rangiora Picture Theatre has now reopened, Northlands and Riccarton are open, you may get to see the pictures for free
- Make use ot the 9hrs free childcare when on a benefit, and take some exercise on your own, kid-free
- Walk round Hagley Park
- Visit your local farmers market, or the Arts Centre Market (now located at Ferrymead) and grab some fresh food or plants for your garden at the same time
